About the author

Miranda was born in the woods of Connecticut where she was soon filling pads of paper with faces and unicorns, and later faeries and amazon women, always striving to "make stuff look like stuff." She spent her formative years in the high desert country of southern Oregon absorbing inspiration from the animals, starry skies and wide-open spaces of the family ranch. While pursuing her Bachelors degree at Pacific University, followed by her Masters at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Miranda traveled the country and the world, every new location and relationship contributing to her well-rounded, strong willed personality, and discovery and confidence in her work. Miranda works as a freelance illustrator and fine artist residing in Austin, Texas. Her children's book, Mishka: An Adoption Tale, is set to release November 2007 and she is accepting new commissions for portraits and other illustration projects.
