Welcome to the first fabulous issue of Oysters & Chocolate, the Premier Erotica Ezine for Women!
It was a cold, February night in Breckenridge, Colorado, when the idea for Oysters & Chocolate first came to us. We were celebrating one of our best friend's birthdays with a fun evening of hottubbing, champagne and dancing. Both of us were doing work for other magazines, and talk inevitably turned that way.
We had both written erotica and enjoyed reading it. We had even sold some stories to online magazines. But as we talked, we realized that all of the sites we had seen were either geared towards men (with erotica and men's porn mixed together), or the sites published anything no matter if it was any good or not. We were looking for quality women's erotica, and while we had found a few sites that provided good stuff, we wanted to see more!
We live in a society where women have rediscovered their sexuality, and they can enjoy it, privately or publicly. We can be mothers, wives, professionals, housekeepers and lovers, all at the same time. Our sexuality is a part of us that should be nurtured, tended to and cherished. And erotica is one tool to help women do all of these things.
Some people have asked, why the name? Oysters and chocolate are both aphrodisiacs, but obviously they don't belong on the same plate. They represent the spectrum of sexuality and sensuality from bondage to romance. The question we want to ask and answer in each issue of Oysters & Chocolate is what turns you on?
When a woman reads erotica, she allows herself to fantasize and explore different aspects of her own sexuality. She can get new ideas and learn things about herself that are fun and exciting. She feels more sexual, sensual and sexy, and this extends to the rest of her life. It lends power to her life, by giving her more confidence, in the bedroom and out. If she's attached, erotica can help her marriage or primary relationship (nothing gets you in the mood like reading good erotica). And if she's single, it can help her feel more fulfilled in herself.
Read a story in the afternoon, and you may not be able to wait to get your husband or boyfriend in the bedroom that night. Read a story in the bath and feel like you're doing something special for yourself. The stories, poetry and artwork we present to you are created to be enjoyed by the body and the mind.
We like to say that Oysters & Chocolate was first born in our imaginations as we slipped and stumbled back to our rented condo, with frozen fingers and red noses, champagne on our breath and a twinkle in our eyes. The ezine was first warmed and began to take life on that February night in the cold, Rocky Mountain air. But in actuality, Oysters & Chocolate comes from that spark in every woman where brains, body and imagination come together to make for great sex.
We are absolutely thrilled to be launching this site, and we hope that you find it as exciting as we do!
