Seducing the Myth: Myths and Legends with an Erotic Twist
Ed. Lucy Felthouse

Book Review by Kay Jaybee

Seducing the Myth,
edited by Lucy Felthouse, is hot with a bit of extra sexy thrown in for good measure. Its pages are filled with naughty words authored by an excellent collection of well known authors (such as Justine Elyot, Kay Dee Royal, and Rebecca Bond), along with some talented newcomers

While all 24 of the erotic stories within Seducing the Myth are worth a read, there are four myths in particular that I simply must bring to your attention:

Caz Jones’s “Q is for...” is inspired. Her story had me both hot and amused, as she reworked the legend of Cupid. Rather than a rosy cheeked cherub, we are faced with a ruggedly handsome man. A disenchanted god, hiding from the red roses and chocolate boxes of Valentine’s day in a city bar, where he has the good fortune to find a sympathetic female companion.

I was particularly drawn to the clever interpretation of the anthology’s theme by Jillian Murphy. In “Blooming April’s Flower” she sends her lead female character, April, to a myth-themed ball dressed as the scantily clad Goddess Flora. Emboldened by the magic of the night, April is soon well on her way to experiencing a very sexy, dreamlike threesome.

Fulani (a new author to me- and someone who I’ll be looking out for again), tackled the ancient story of Andromeda in “Andi in Chains.” This is a frankly brutal story based in the modern drug running underworld. The perfect story to appeal to the BSDM lovers amongst us. Harsh, rope laden, and uncompromising—but , and you can trust me on this, it is one HOT story!

The cream on top of this particular literary cake has to be “Stones” by KD Grace. I’m not going to divulge anything about it, for it would be so easy to ruin it for you. All I’m saying is that I have read almost every short story KD has written and, for me, this has to be the best one so far. It isn’t quite a romance. It isn’t quite a thriller—it’s somehow both—and you have to read it!

From straight romance, to bi-sexual fun, with the occasional helping of girl on girl action, and a quick gorgeously gay threesome, there is something for every connoisseur of erotica in Lucy Felthouse’s latest offering to the world of smut—bring on the next!

Seducing the Myth is available in paperbook and as e-book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other booksellers

Wow, thank you for such a thorough review, Kay. I wondered why you weren't one of the authors in the book (smile). Maybe next time...at least some of us are bugging Lucy to do it all again. It was such fun to write and unite with the other authors. Like a big celebration. Thank you again for your kind words about Seducing the Myth.

It sounds like a very imaginative collection. Thanks for the thoughtful (and teasing) review. (I'm a Fulani fan--he's a good discovery!)

Sounds like a sexy and must read anthology. I love anything about myths.
