Holy Long John Silver! It’s July already, which means Oysters & Chocolate is 6 years old!
July 4th is the little lady’s official birthday, and we can’t help but get a little sentimental as we look back over these last 6 years. Our lovely gal (okay… sometimes we do refer to her as “that bitch of a website”) has changed and grown so much, unfolding and evolving into the adult playground that it is today. And as the co-owners (although much of the time, we feel like O&C owns us – yes, we are slaves to the erotic machine), we’ve had the pleasure of unfolding and evolving right along with her.
From a pay site to a free site, from editing to writing and back again, from short stories and poetry to anthologies and nonfiction sex advice – we ride the erotic creative cycle that O&C embodies. And our personal lives mirror that cycle too, from inspired productivity to terrible writer’s block, from falling in love to heart-break, from joy to struggle – it’s as if O&C is a living thing, and we are as much entwined in her journey as she is in ours.
And what is O&C? She is the beautiful creation infused with the talent and passion of hundreds of writers, the brilliance of dozens of artists, the support and love of many family and good friends, and the humor, curiosity, and energy of thousands of readers.
A huge thank you goes to every single person who is part of O&C. She wouldn’t exist without you, and (we think) the world would be a drearier place. So this Fourth of July, when you're hopefully celebrating with family and friends, raise your glass, or light up your sparkler, or even pull down your panties for a playful butt wiggle, and give a birthday toast (even if it's a silent one). We'll be toasting right along with you!
