What is the inspiration behind "Siestas and Spanish Leather Boots"?

The inspiration for this story was my 1987 trip to Madrid where I realized that the impulsive, fast-food treatment of sex by American youth differed a great deal from that of the slow sex of Spanish gentlemen who treated a woman’s body like a fine wine while making love.

What makes the character(s) in your story nice but naughty?

Annabella is a simple tourist and Benito an art museum docent, both “nice” in their everyday lives. They are naughty because they take a moment out of a sleepy part of the day to enjoy each other sexually in the Prado, a very public, very famous place.

If you could have sex with any famous character, (fictional or not, living or not), who would it be and why?

Anais Nin would be a fantastic journey to the past’s sexual history. But having sex with Jason Patric, Chris Sarandon, Oded Fehr, Arnold Vosloo, Laura Harring, or Madeline Stowe would be delicious.

What does your mother think about your writing erotica?

My mother, who was a nun prior to my birth, is currently unaware of my newfound pleasure – writing erotic fiction and researching the topics on which the stories are based. (I had to find something to do after multiple sclerosis took my teaching career away.) Knowledge of the truth might bring about my Mom’s untimely demise.

  Indeed, Rosalia -- the setting for your story is so incredibly sexy. It's almost an erotic character in and of itself, and was the first thing that stood out for me when I read it. Luscious!
