What is the inspiration behind "Corset"?

I have always had a thing about corsets (conveniently overlooking how difficult they can be to do up), and I like to use them in stories as often as I can. The idea for this particular ‘Corset’ orientated tale was sparked when I spotted a young man reading a copy of The Importance of Being Earnest in my local coffee shop. The next thing I knew, the ideas were flowing...

What makes the character(s) in your story nice but naughty?

There are two main characters in ‘Corset’, Andrew and Rose. Each has the serious hots for the other, but neither has ever said anything about how they feel. Finally, bored of always being a nice girl, Rose takes action. Borrowing the corset she wears as Gwendolyn in an amateur dramatic production of The Importance of Being Earnest, she hides it under the usual clothes, and invites Andrew to her flat to share a pizza. Andrew soon discovers just how many erotic plans Rose has secretly made with him in mind...

If you could have sex with any famous character, (fictional or not, living or not), who would it be and why?

Tricky question! My fantasies have always been very much based on ‘real’ people. Still, I think I could stretch a point for the British actor Max Beesley of ‘Mad Dogs’, ‘Survivors’ and ‘Hotel Babylon’ fame. Gorgeously rugged and toned, and yet not perfect; he’s gruff and yet smooth. Something about the man just radiates sexual tension....yum !

What does your mother think about your writing erotica?

My Mum is so cool. I was unbelievably nervous when I first told her about my writing, but I had no need to fear. She was thrilled, promptly told my Dad, and they have bought almost everything I’ve written ever since. They say they don’t read the books, but just like to support me- I think they protest too much!

  I'm looking forward to reading your story when I receive my copy of the collection. I was glad to hear your fantasies are based on real-life people. I spent my whole life fantasizing about fictional characters and have recently had to adjust to some real-life inspiration, which, for me, is so much more complicated, and yet, makes my stories more vivid and, I think, authentic.

  KJB- lovely to read your comments. I too tend to focus my sexual fantasies on women I have met and actually know, well okay, best fantasy I ever had was of a woman I only knew online!!
