"I Pee during sex, is something wrong with me?" sex advice from Jordan LaRousse
Dear Jordan,When I have sex I pee. Even if I pee before I have sex, I still pee. I know it's pee because it smells, looks, and taste like pee. Is something wrong with me?

Dear P.P.,
First of all, let’s make sure that what you are experiencing isn’t female ejaculation (which is a good, happy thing as long as you throw down some towels to protect you and your lover from having to sleep on the wet spot).
- Is the liquid clear or yellow? Ejaculate should be clear or whitish. (You can determine this by putting down a white towel beneath you when you have sex and investigating the color afterward).
- Does the liquid have a fairly neutral odor and quickly evaporate? Ejaculate doesn’t usually stain the sheets in the long term, or have the foul odor that urine does (although it can smell similar to urine, it’s usually not as strong a scent).
- Does it feel good when you expel the liquid? If you are ejaculating, then it should be simultaneous with or just before your big-O. If you’re peeing, well, it will feel like you are peeing…not as good as an orgasm (unless you’ve been holding it, then it’s a big relief!).
- Do you pee while you are masturbating too, even if you are just stimulating your clit? Or is it only a byproduct of penetration? Typically, if you start gushing as soon as you are penetrated, it’s probably pee. If you expel liquid upon orgasm, it’s probably ejaculate.

Do you only pee during sex? Or do you sometimes leak urine when doing aerobic exercises (like jumping rope), when you are laughing, or at any other time during the day? If you leak at other times, you’re likely experiencing urinary incontinence. Here are some ideas on how to handle it.
- We highly recommend practicing your Kegel exercises, which involves squeezing and releasing your pelvic floor muscles. This helps to strengthen the neck of your bladder and will not only help you control your bladder, but can help you have stronger and longer orgasms. Learn more here.
- It’s good that you pee before you have sex, this should help with the quantity that you expel.
- You might also try limiting your caffeine and alcohol intake, as they are both diuretics (which make you have to pee a lot more frequently).
- There are prescriptions that can help you control urinary incontinence. Talk to your doctor to find out more.
- To keep sex enjoyable even with the water works, be sure to invest in plenty of towels and sheets. Have sex where there is a shower readily available; even better, take the opportunity, from time to time, to do it in the shower! No fuss, no muss.
- If you’re open to kink, you may find that a partner who is into pee play (urolagnia) will really appreciate your condition.
- If your partner is disturbed by it, assure him that pee is sterile (which is also good for you to know since you've already tasted the yellow stuff – although, unless you’re stranded on a desert island with no water, you should probably abstain from drinking it.)
- If it’s seriously disruptive to your sex life, consider speaking to a qualified sex therapist for advice.
Good luck!
