This is a bit awkward to admit but I have been dumped via text message... twice... by the same girl. Granted there was usually a face to face discussion of the reasons afterwards, a "confrontation" if you will, but the "I don't think we should see each other anymore because I'm not really sure I love you" came via text.

yes...an email following a date I think went south. I got a dear john which I followed by a dear jane. Very civilized and very White Angelo Saxon Protestant.....but 8 months later an email of appology asking me to return followed by another email from me that said no - a million times no...did he know the answer was no.....but thanks for recognizing your inadaquacies.

In 1996, my father was working in Europe for a few months. Out of the blue, via email (which was a fairly new medium at the time) he advised my mother that he would be divorcing her and not returning to Canada. He provided very few details. The email was brief. The marriage had lasted more than 30 years. My father is a practical person; I doubt he even considered that sending this message by email made it colder or more cruel. But I think it — the email, not the divorce — permanently changed the way all his children have thought of him since. Only a coward divorces his wife via email. At least, this is how we kids felt.

I've had relationships that started, existed, and ended online - without ever meeting in person.

Yep, I broke up with a dude in an e-mail. I was nasty about it too but he had it coming. We were having an extra-marital fling and somehow he forgot to tell me that altho he was separated from his wife, he was LIVING WITH some dizzy broad. Who intercepted our e-mails and thought she could scare me by threatening to out me to my husband. That huzzy was mad as a wet hen. Called me every name she could think of and then some. It didn't ruffle my feathers in the slightest. For me it was only a short term fling with some REALLLLLLLLLLLLY good sex. I let her a$$ have it in a nice way and told him where he could get off. Then I blocked both their e-mail addresses.

my husband was having an affair and changed deleted his "married" status in facebook. that sent a status update to all of his facebook friends, including me and my in-laws. they immediately started calling me to find out what was up. i referred them to him. he quickly changed his status back, but too late, harm done.
