The Wave Rider by Doc Johnson is a typical cock ring with vibrating bullet. It’s nothing exceptional, but it lives up to it’s potential being only $18 and made in China.
On the plus side:
The ring is “splash proof” which opens up options for lovemaking in wet places like the shower or a sauna.
The ring is very stretchy (it stretches up to a 5-inch diameter, more than enough for most men) which makes it easy to put on and secure behind the balls even when he has an erection. (Metal and plastic rings need to be put on before an erection, which in my sex life, is next to impossible, as I rarely see my guy without a boner).
The clit nub has a nice texture which adds a pleasant sensation during sex.
The price is right at $18, which means it’s okay for the toy to be average.
It doesn’t snap in half during sex like other rings we’ve tried. We’ve had loads of other stretchy rings completely snap off during intercourse. It’s annoying and frustrating. But the Wave Rider did a good job of surviving the storm.
It performs the primary job of a cock ring which is to increase erection size and duration.
On the down side:
The Wave Rider comes with a wimpy bullet vibe—I personally like my vibrations to be a little more intense. This might be okay for the person who likes a gentler vibe.
The vibrator runs on three watch batteries. I like my toys to run on AAs, because when I run out of batteries, I don’t usually restock on watch batteries.
The ring tends to slide and twist during intercourse, moving the nub and vibe away from the clit – so to keep the wave going I had to frequently reposition it, which became annoying and eventually I gave up.
The manufacturers bill it as enhancing his pleasure as well, but when I asked my guy if he enjoyed the vibrations he said “the vibrations are okay, but your pussy feels MUCH better.” Unless your guy is into vibes, plan on the extra pleasure being all yours.
